Driver charged for fatal Boone County crash
BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - A Ft. Thomas man has been charged and arrested for allegedly causing a fatal crash back in April in Boone County.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office says Maxwell Detzel was intoxicated while driving northbound on Dixie Highway. Investigators say he lost control in a curve and crossed into the southbound lanes, where his Camaro struck two cars.
Joshua Ray, 26, was driving a Civic. He was killed in the crash. Detzel and the other driver were flown by medical helicopter to UC Medical Center. Deputies say none of the three drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Detzel was arrested on October 10. He's charged with manslaughter, criminal mischief, assault and DUI. He's locked up on a $50,000 bond.
