Festival of Lights opens at the Cincinnati Zoo
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially at the Cincinnati Zoo.
The zoo continues its holiday tradition with its 35th Annual Festival of Lights.
The event opens on Saturday and runs through Jan. 1, so there's plenty of time to get there.
The Festival of Lights has been named the No. 1 zoo lights display in the country by a USA Today poll.
This year's celebration is bigger and brighter than ever with three million LED lights and 19 brand new, larger than life animal lanterns placed throughout the zoo.
Since switching to LED lights, the zoo saved $50,000 per year on their electric bill.
The Festival of Lights is Fridays and Saturdays until 10 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday until 9 p.m.
