Family remembers Cincinnati native, boyfriend found dead in Rocky Mountains
ASPEN, Colo. (WKRC) - A woman who grew up in the Tri-State died along with her boyfriend during a weekend hike in the Rocky Mountains.
Carly Brightwell graduated from Cincinnati Country Day in 2008.
She and Ryan Marcil didn't return from a Sunday climb at Capitol Peak outside Aspen, Colorado. Her sister reported them missing on Monday, August 21.
According to the sheriff's report, the pair had left Sunday. They were going to camp and make a summit attempt on Monday and then return.
A helicopter search crew spotted their bodies at the bottom of the mountain's north face Tuesday afternoon.
A sheriff in the area says given where the couple was, it's likely they fell off somewhere near the summit. A TV station in Denver said that their deaths were the third and fourth from the peak this summer.
