Foster's mother talked to him on Wednesday morning: "He was going to turn himself in"
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Ronald Foster said he would kill himself before he went back to prison. It appears that's what he did after a long police chase.
Police had been looking for Foster since Sunday when he shot at a Springfield Township officer.
The chase started at the police impound lot. Police had information he was going there to get a car cops impounded Sunday night.
They followed him. The search for Ronald Foster ended up on I-75 south.
Foster wouldn't pull over as police followed him for miles through Cincinnati.
On I-75 near 7th Street, Foster ran into another car and then into the wall, likely after he shot himself.
His mother said her son isn't right in the head and that he suffered from depression for years. She said he talked about suicide.
Police officers did not fire their weapon at Foster on Wednesday.
Foster's mother said she talked to her son Wednesday morning about turning himself in.
"He was going to turn himself in… meet with my brother… only one who can get through to him… I was going to see him in jail, I got to talk to him this morning,” said Ronald’s mother Susan.
