Funeral mass held for beloved Elder teacher Mark Klusman
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Friends, family and the Elder community came together on Jan. 3 to remember beloved teacher Mark Klusman. Klusman was volunteering with a neighborhood clean up in West Price Hill when he was hit by a car.
A funeral mass was held at St. Monica-St. George Church. The Elder family bid farewell to a man who had such an impact on young lives.
The church was packed with families as well as current and former Elder students. The majority of them wore purple, whether it be ties or shirts, commemorating the Elder school colors.
Klusman was remembered as being integral in Elder community service projects, whether it be restoring old homes, beautifying the neighborhood or feeding the poor. Those who knew him-learned from him.
People will all gather later Wednesday at Elder High Schol for a reception and to share fond memories of a man who meant so much to the young men who walked the halls of Elder and their families. That reception will be held at the Schaeper Center from 4 - 8 p.m.
Klusman died December 27, a little over two weeks after he was struck in a hit-and-run accident on Warsaw Avenue, where he was volunteering in the Elder-Price Hill cleanup.
Kayla Wilson is charged in the accident that claimed Klusman's life.
