GE cutting expected jobs, laying off some employees
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - It was billed as a major job-creating move, but there's word now that General Electric is already laying off a small number of employees at its Global Operations Center in the Banks Riverfront development.
GE revised the expected number of people it will hire there and will eliminate a few existing positions.
The company completed the office building a year ago. It received $112 million in tax incentives from the city.
Company officials say the office will still employ the 1,400 workers it promised to get that deal.
