Habitat for Humanity celebrates major milestone
MADISONVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) - Habitat for Humanity celebrated a major milestone on Saturday.
Work on the organization's 600th home is complete.
The Dailey family is moving into the house in Madisonville.
They put 500 hours of sweat equity in to help build the home.
Habitat's CEO said 600 homes is a big deal, but more are needed.
"We'd like that number to be larger," Ed Lee, said. "You know, there's a great need for low-income housing in Greater Cincinnati. We need 600 more tomorrow to really make a dent, but that's 600 families that have had the opportunity to change their lives."
The Dailey's say they're grateful for all the volunteers that helped build their new home.
"When you start from the beginning when there are weeds and from week to week to see the changes is very exciting," said Teressa Dailey.
