'Happiest 5K' comes to Cincinnati in blaze of color
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - It's called "The Happiest 5K on the Planet!" And it came to Cincinnati Saturday.
A colorful display of runners took over downtown for the Color Run Dream Tour.
Organizers said they expect around 6,000 people to participate in the 5K Saturday. It started at 9 a.m. near Paul Brown Stadium.
Runners and walkers crossed through a series of stations with colorful powder and foam, and the run even added two new colors to the mix this year: purple and green!
At the end of the 5K, participants get a unicorn medal, and there will be an after party with music.
Organizers said the Color Run is all about bringing people together to make the world a happier and healthier place. It's also more about making memories than setting records.
The 5K in Cincinnati will benefit the Tri-State Bleeding Disorder Foundation.
Since it was founded in 2011, more than 6 million runners have participated in the Color Run in more than 35 countries.
