Judge: Jury won't visit Skylar Richardson's home, interrogation room
CARLISLE, Ohio (WKRC) - The 18-year-old woman charged with murdering her newborn and burying her in the backyard was handed a setback by the judge in her case.
Judge Donald Oda denied a request by Skylar Richardson's lawyers for the jury to visit Richardson's Carlisle home and the police interrogation room where she was questioned.
The judge said neither is proper.
He ruled a visit to the home could cause jurors to form opinions based on its appearance that could prejudice them.
And he ruled there was no value in the jury seeing the interrogation room.
Richardson's trial is scheduled for April 16.
