Jury selection underway for suspect in Colerain murder
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Jurors could hear opening statements as early as today in the murder trial of Earl Jones.
Jones is charged with murder after he shot and killed Kevin Neri at a home on Overdale Avenue in Colerain Township in May of 2016.
Jones called 911 and told the operator that he fired the gun to defend himself. He then turned himself in to deputies.
Friends of Kevin say he was in a relationship with Jones' former girlfriend. In a YouTube video, they say he was unarmed. They believe race played an issue in the fatal shooting.
Jury selection resumed on October 12.
Once seated jurors will take a tour of the shooting scene. Opening statements would take place after that.
