KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - His job is creepy.

Kenton County Detective Steve Banner gets sexual messages and images from pedophiles all over the world.

They contact him through social media because they believe he's a young girl.

The number of men who've connected with him recently is so disturbing, police believe The Internet Crimes Against Children Unit needs to be expanded.

Danny Roberts is the latest face on Detective Benner's Wall of Shame in his Kenton County police office.

Benner is trained in internet crimes against children.

His wall reflects that work.

Benner has a social media profile of a 13-year-old girl. That's who pedophiles contact. Some drive to meet her.

Benner has several cases pending.

Benner tells parents to watch how your kids act with their phones.

Do they hide the phone or go into the bedroom to use it?

He said you should never let your child charge the phone in their room overnight.

It's just too tempting to get on it, and he says, that's what pedophiles hope they will do.
