Kenton County rape suspect could face additional charges

Plea for information leads to two more possible victims (WKRC)

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - A plea for more information about a suspected child predator has led to two more potential underage victims of Matthew Bucher.

Bucher currently faces charges of rape, promoting a sexual performance by a minor and six counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. All of these charges involve the same 12-year-old girl.

During the investigation by Kenton County Police, officers seized Buchers computers, cell phones and other electronics. Because of pictures and videos found on them, detectives believe there are more possible victims. They held a press conference on April 7.

As a result of that press conference, Kenton County Police Chief Spike Jones said they received four or five viable tips. Two of them are substantial enough that they are pursing additional cases against Bucher.

Investigators have a special hotline dedicated just to this case. It's (859) 240 8548.
