Lebanon man sentenced 18 years to life in prison for killing his father
LEBANON, Ohio (WKRC) - After being found guilty of murder by a jury in October, a Lebanon man has been sentenced to 18 years to life in prison by a Warren County judge.
43-year-old Freddy Green shot his father, Sydney V. Green, in the back of the head during an argument on December 2, 2016. Green reportedly then waited several hours before calling 911. Green told the dispatcher that he had shot his father and that his father was dead.
Green had both heroin and cocaine in his system when he was taken into custody.
"Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell commended Detective Greg Spanel, Detective John Wetzel, Patrolman Travis O’Neil, Patrolman Patrick Jenkinson, and Patrolman Jeffrey Haller of the Lebanon Police Department, as well as 1st Assistant Prosecutor Steve Knippen, Assistant Prosecutor Karl Harris, Director of Victim Witness Services Jessi Flint, and Legal Assistant Brenda Berry for their work on the case," according to a release from Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell.
