Man arrested in major drug seizure, charged with trafficking heroin, fentanyl
HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says they've made a big arrest and seizure after apprehending a man accused of trafficking heroin and fentanyl into Ohio.
José Rodriquez of Bronx, New York was arrested Thursday by agents from the Hamilton County Regional Enforcement Narcotics Unit after the drugs were found concealed in a compartment of Rodriquez's vehicle. RENU agents said they seized two kilograms of heroin and fentanyl worth over $300,000.
Authorities say this bust disrupted a large drug-distributing organization that ran from New York into Columbus and Cincinnati.
Rodriquez is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $2 million bond. Rodriquez also may be charged with additional federal trafficking charges within the coming days.
