19-year-old critically injured after motorcycle crashes into tow truck in Sycamore Twp.
SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A 19-year-old man was critically injured after a crash in Sycamore Township on Wednesday.
The crash involving a motorcycle and a tow truck took place at Plainfield Road and Sycamore Road. The intersection in the area was closed.
19-year-old Jackson Hanlon was driving a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Plainfield Road. 51-year-old Ronald Henderson was backing a 2016 Hino tow truck across Plainfield road and into the driveway of a private residence.
Mr. Hanlon tried to avoid the tow truck by switching into the rightmost lane, but failed and struck the rear "fast lift" of the tow truck.
Air Care and Care Flight were both called to the scene, but both were unable to fly due to weather.
Mr. Hanlon was taken by the Sycamore Township Fire Department to University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. Mr. Henderson was uninjured by the crash.
Speed, alcohol and or drugs of abuse are not believed to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit.
