Man in custody after standoff in Brown County

A man was taken into custody after threatening to kill himself and refusing to come out of his house in Brown County. (WKRC)

BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A man is in custody after a standoff in Brown County.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Smoky Row Road in Georgetown around 12:30 pm Sunday afternoon.

They said a man was threatening to kill himself and refused to come out of his house. Three SWAT teams were called to the scene.

After negotiating, the man was taken into custody. No one was hurt.

A Local 12 crew was kept back for safety sake. The operation led by the Brown County sheriff is not at the white house seen in the video. The man was actually refusing to leave a home on the property next door.

Investigators have not released his name.
