Middletown High School closed on Wednesday due to threat of violence
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) - Middletown City Schools has announced that Middletown High School will be closed on Wednesday after officials were alerted to a threat of violence made against the school on Tuesday afternoon.
"The threat is specific enough that we believe the safest option for our students and staff is to close the High School tomorrow," said Middletown City Schools in its Facebook post.
Tuesday was an "underclassman day" and the school says that this had nothing to do with seniors or graduation.
"If your son or daughter knows anything about the threat, please ask them to call the Middletown Police Dispatch at 513-425-7700," said Middletown City Schools. "Please know, the safety and security of our students and staff is our number one priority. A big thank you to everyone who helps keep our schools safe. As always, if you see something, say something."
