Mt. Healthy mother accused of failing to get help for her injured son
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A Mt. Healthy woman is accused of failing to get help for her injured son after he was beaten with an extension cord. Amber Shears is charged with endangering children.
According to court papers, Shears told Andrew Shelton that her son had misbehaved on September 12. Police say Shelton struck the ten-year-old multiple times with the extension cord in the back, making him bleed.
Police say Shears didn't give him any medical help and told him to take a shower to relieve the pain.
Later, police say Shelton did bring medicine for the boy's back and apologized.
Shelton was charged on November 9. He has yet to be arrested or appear in court.
