8 injured, 1 dead in Colerain Township shooting
COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Colerain Township Police say that a total of 9 people were shot Saturday night at a home on Capstan Drive, and one of those victims died at the scene.
Two gunmen with handguns opened fire inside the home where a soon-to-be mother was announcing the gender of her baby, according to police.
Autumn Garrett, a 22-year-old from Huntington, Indiana, was killed.
Eight others, including three young children ages 2-8, were wounded. None of the wounds are life-threatening.
Police said they are still looking for the suspect or suspects, who fled the scene on foot. It's not known if the shooter or shooters knew the victims or what their motivation was, but police said they fired into the party at random.
The other victims were taken to UC Medical Center and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. UC Medical Center says five victims were transported to them. Two are listed in serious but stable condition and the other three were treated and released.
Officers were called to the 9900 block of Capstan Drive about 11:30 p.m.
The Cincinnati Police investigative unit is now helping with the investigation.
Police said witnesses have been cooperating with the investigation. If you have any information, please call the police.
