Musketeers leave for the Big Dance
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Xavier basketball players made their way to the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday. The team boarded buses at the Cintas Center en route to Nashville.
For seniors, this trip is it. "It's the last go around so I'm pretty excited to take on this trip, especially as a one seed and hopefully this last go around will be worth it," said senior guard Trevon Bluiett.
"We're not nervous," said senior forward Kerem Kanter. "We know how good we are. As long as we play our best basketball and stick to our game plan, there isn't a team we can't beat in the country. So, we've just got to do what we're good at."
The number one seed will play Texas Southern in Nashville at 7:20 p.m. on Friday.
Bluiett added the tournament will be different as a one seed because everyone will be looking to upset them. "When we were an 11 seed last year people probably didn't take us as serious or oh, they're a lower seed but being a one seed we've got targets on our backs."
