CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A hearing has been scheduled to discuss the prosecution's request for a change of venue in the Ray Tensing retrial. That hearing is scheduled for December 12.

Local 12 was told that a hearing was held with the newly appointed judge in the case, Leslie Ghiz, on November 30. No word if anything else was discussed.

In an unusual move, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters has said he wants the retrial moved. Deters has said he'd like to see it moved to Columbus or Cleveland. He believes it would be "incredibly difficult" to find an impartial jury in the Tri-State. He can't remember the last time a trial was moved out of Hamilton County.

He cites juror fears in the original trial as another reason. At one point the jury refused to return from a break after learning of a request to make the jury questionnaires public, with the personal information redacted.
