Northern Kentucky veteran's missing service dog, "Gunner", found dead
WALTON, Ky. (WKRC) - Family members confirm that a missing service dog that was stolen from his disabled veteran owner's yard has been found dead.
"Gunner" the Siberian Husky was much more than a pet to veteran Bryan Vallandingham.
"He’s basically my lifeline," Vallandingham said.
The 3-year-old husky helped Vallandingham with devastating seizures by letting him know before he was going to have one.
Gunner's body was found near railroad tracks along Dixie Highway on Monday.
Family and friends had searched and posted flyers and had a substantial reward for the dog's return. They were hoping that it would make a difference.
Local 12 is working to learn more about how Gunner was found and more about the situation.
More information will be provided when available.
