34-year-old killed in head-on crash between pickup trucks in Brown County
HUNTINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A 34-year-old man was killed in a crash east of Aberdeen in Brown County on Friday morning.
The crash was reported at 6:40 a.m. on U.S. 52.
34-year-old Ronald Hurless was reportedly traveling westbound on US 52 in a 2006 Ford F-150 when his vehicle went left of center and collided head-on with a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by 39-year-old Josh Jones.
Mr. Hurless was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner. Mr. Jones was transported to the hospital and then flown to the University Hospital for serious non life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates Mr. Hurless was not wearing his seatbelt. Drugs and or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation
The road was closed for about four hours but has since reopened.
"The Patrol would like to remind all motorists that seat belts save lives. It’s simple - safety belts save lives and reduce injury in crashes. It is the easiest thing you can do to protect yourself, your family and your friends," stated the Ohio State Highway Patrol in a media release.
