OXFORD, Ohio (WKRC) - On Dec. 14, a fire ripped through the home of Oxford police officer Pete Durkin.

He and his wife managed to escape as did their four dogs. But they lost a lot.

Since the fire, the Durkin's have received cards and letters with donations from all over the country, even from parents of Miami University students.

But there was one letter that touched the Durkin's hearts. It came with 13 cents from an unknown child.

The Durkins would love to meet the young donor just to say thanks.

Today, the Durkin home is just a shell.

They vow to rebuild.

They hope to celebrate Christmas there next year.

What a Christmas that will be.

The Durkins say the support they have received shows that there is so much more good than bad in this world and they are looking forward to giving back.
