Rabbit Hash General Store braces for flooding
RABBIT HASH, Ky. (WKRC) - In Boone County, the historic Rabbit Hash General Store was bracing for flooding on Saturday.
The store was restored after a fire in 2016 and has stood its ground through a number of floods, even the historic flood of 1937.
Rob Stone, whose dog Lady is an ambassador to Rabbit Hash, said the building is anchored by iron rods.
But they're taking precautions.
A compressor was taken out and other items have been moved as well.
"The community, any time they need help out here, you know they reach out and the community comes. Everybody comes," Stone said. "They could reach out and within hours you could have a hundred people in here to help. There's that many people love this place. This place has a part in so many people's hearts in this community, it's incredible."
According to the Rabbit Hash website, their Music Behind the Stove event that was scheduled for Sunday has been canceled due to possible flooding.
