Sheriff's Office: Inmate in Butler County Jail dies from apparent suicide
BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - The Butler County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that one of their inmates has died from an apparent suicide.
The sheriff's office said 21-year-old Samantha Young was found unresponsive in her cell Jan. 16. A bed sheet was tied around her neck and her knees were bent.
Corrections officers got Young down and began CPR until medical staff arrived, but medics were unable to find a pulse or any other sign of life, and Young was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office says they are investigating the incident, but it doesn't appear any foul play was involved.
Young was booked into the Butler County Jail on Jan. 14 for a probation violation.
