SWAT situation after shots fired inside Oakley apartment building

SWAT responds to an allegedly suicidal man who fired shots at an apartment near Rookwood Commons. (WKRC)

OAKLEY, Ohio (WKRC) - A man is in custody after a SWAT situation in Oakley. . Nathaniel Jungkunz is charged with felonious assault.

Police were called to an apartment complex on Willard Avenue just before 11 p.m. Monday. A father thought his son might be suicidal.

As police tried to get the man out of the apartment, they say Jungkunz fired several shots in an apartment and outside in the direction of police. No one was hit. That's when they called in SWAT officers.

Jungkunz's sister was in the apartment. She was able to leave on her own.

Roads were shut down while police negotiated with Jungkunz. They were able to take him into custody. He had a psychiatric exam at the hospital and was then taken to jail.

He'll be arraigned Wednesday.
