Three people hurt in apartment fire (WKRC)

WEST CHESTER, Ohio (WKRC) - Several families were displaced Monday, March 20, after a fire broke out in West Chester.

The West Chester Fire Chief told Local 12 News the flames started in an attic space where it quickly spread. Three people were hurt as a result of the fire.

Around 3 p.m. officials received a call for a fire at the Meadow Ridge Apartment Complex. When firefighters arrived smoke and flames were coming out of the attic and the top floor.

Everyone did make it out of the buildings that were affected but three young adults were rushed to the hospital.

Chief Rick Brinz said, “They quickly learned that all the apartments were evacuated and we had three victims of the apartment where the fire originated. They each had some smoke inhalation and one patient had some minor burns and they were transported to West Chester Hospital.”

There was heavy damage done to the units and officials told Local 12 News that 10 families were displaced. The Red Cross was contacted to help the families.
