UC cornerback Alex Thomas charged with aggravated robbery
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A University of Cincinnati football player has been charged with aggravated robbery.
Junior cornerback Alex Thomas was arrested for aggravated robbery on Wednesday.
He'll be arraigned on Thursday morning.
According to the arrest report, Thomas went to an apartment complex with a second suspect, Julien Holton, to rob another man of his marijuana.
Holton was carrying a firearm and approached the victim. As the victim ran away, he was pushed to the ground and his keys were taken.
Thomas and Holton were identified by security video.
After Thomas was arrested, he admitted to being at the location of the offense and going with Holton to find the victim. He said his involvement was to knock on the victim's door to get him to come outside.
Thomas is entering his third season with the UC Bearcats.
He started 10 games last season with four interceptions.
Thomas has been suspended indefinitely according to the UC Department of Athletics policy. His status will be addressed following a resolution.
UC said that they will not comment further on this matter at this time.
