UC football player, alleged accomplice appear in court on robbery charge
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A University of Cincinnati football player appeared in court on an aggravated robbery charge Thursday. Junior cornerback Alex Thomas is held on a $100,000 bond on an aggravated robbery charge.
Thomas and Julien Holton are accused of robbing a man of his marijuana at an off-campus apartment.
Assistant prosecutor David Wood said Thomas admitted that it was his job to knock on the door and get the victim answer. Then they're accused of chasing down the victim, pushing him and robbing him.
Thomas' attorney said that his client adamently denies the allegations and that security video will clear up what happened.
Wood said that Thomas already admitted to his part in the crime. He is now suspended indefinitely from the team.
Holton was also arraigned. A judge ordered him held on $250,000 bond. His bond is higher because of his previous criminal record.
