Man builds crosses for Vegas shooting victims
CHICAGO (WKRC) - An Illinois man is working to honor each victim who was killed in the Las Vegas massacre while also showing the severity of what happened, according to WGN.
Greg Zanis has made 20,000 crosses in the last 20 years for those who have been murdered.
The nearly 60 crosses he's making this week are the most he's ever made at once.
"This row of crosses will show the severity of what really happened there," Zanis told WGN. "Moreso than numbers and pictures in the paper."
Each cross will display the name and photo of the victim.
Zanis plans to pack up his truck and make the 1,800-mile drive to Vegas.
He expects his memorial to be a magnet for mourners.
