Officers of the law fight in Ky. jail
HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - Here's something you don't see everyday-- a jailhouse fight between officers of the law!
A deputy jailer in Hardin County was arrested and suspended without pay after a fight with a sheriff's deputy on Wednesday, officials said. Clennon Smith was reportedly turning over inmate property to Joe Funk when things got heated over where a backpack should be placed, according to WHAS. Funk is accused of throwing the property back at the deputy
Funk was to appear in court on Friday, charged with third-degree felony assault of a probation/police officer, menacing and resisting arrest. Smith is still on the job.
"It is very unfortunate that this incident occurred," a press release said. "Sometimes bad decisions and anger cause people to make the wrong choice."
