Former Bengals, Ohio State linebacker to retire from NFL

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Former Bengals and Ohio State linebacker A.J. Hawk is going to sign a one-day contract with the Green Bay Packers so that he can retire with the team that originally drafted him into the NFL.

Hawk was selected by the Packers with the fifth pick overall in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft by Green Bay and played with the Packers through the 2014 season.

He was with the Bengals in 2015, playing just over a quarter of the team's defensive snaps while recording 24 total tackles and one sack.

Hawk was signed by the Atlanta Falcons in 2016, and played in only one game for them before being released on Oct. 25.
