CINCINNATI (WKRC) - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict were 1-2 on The Sporting News list of the top 20 NFL players it considered the "most hated" heading into the 2017 season published a few weeks ago, and a poll on a Pittsburgh Steelers-based website asking what player their fans' hated the most had them 1-2 as well.

Except, as you might expect, the vote left Burfict as the clear No. 1 choice as the player Steelers' fans hate the most.

The poll took place on and was titled, "Steelers Fan Playa Hatin'," in which it seeded 16 players 1-16 and had fans vote in matches that pitted No. 1 vs. No. 16, No. 2 vs. No. 15 and so on. Burfict was the No. 1 seed and Brady the No. 2 seed.

Burfict "won" his first round matchup against former Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace 98-2 percent, then "won" his quarterfinal matchup against Bengals running back Jeremy Hill, the No. 9 seed, 98-2 percent as well before "beating" No. 12 seed LaGarrette Blount 88-12 percent in the semifinal round.

Brady, who was the No. 2 seed, advanced with easy "wins" over Aaron Rodgers and Rob Gronkowski, then "downed" Bengals cornerback Adam Jones, the No.3 seed, in the semifinal round 58-42 percent.

Burfict "won" the final over Brady 70-30 percent.
