FC Cincinnati looks to kick off another strong season with home opener
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - FC Cincinnati burst on the scene last year and immediately set attendance records in the United Soccer League.
The team hopes that can help them win a coveted spot in Major League Soccer.
We'll see the FCC spirit in action Saturday night at the season home opener.
As we saw last season, the folks at FC Cincinnati know how to put on a good show.
Record attendance, a trip to the playoffs and some serious interest from Major League Soccer are just a few of their accolades.
This year, they're taking it up a notch.
That includes some major renovations to Nippert Stadium, improving some sight lines and making the field a little deeper.
But that's just the start. They've also added more amenities for the fans to make the game day experience even better.
FCC has already sold over 16,000 tickets for Saturday's game, but they're shooting for even more and trying to break the USL attendance record for a home opener.
2-years-ago, Sacramento had 20,231 attendees at their first home game.
After playing their first three games on the road, it's going to be busy at Nippert Stadium over the next little while.
Three home matches over the next eight days including games next Wednesday and Saturday.
It’s another important season for FC Cincinnati, both on the field and in the stands as they try to earn an invitation to Major League Soccer in the next couple of years.
If you can't make it to the game you can catch all the action on STAR 64 on Saturday at 7 p.m.
