Updated: Sunday, November 3 2013, 11:58 PM EST

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Four Musketeers scored in double figures as the Xavier women's basketball team picked up a 70-65 exhibition win over Division II Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon at Cintas Center.

Xavier and UIndy have met five times, including two times during regular season play and a trio of exhibition contests. XU has now won four of the five meetings and bested Indianapolis, 67-51, in the 2012-13 tune-up a year ago.

The Blue and White, who were out rebounded 36-30, shot 41.1 percent from the field and 81.8 percent from the charity stripe, while the Greyhounds shot 47.3 percent from the floor and 72.7 from the free throw line.

Picked to finish ninth in the BIG EAST, XU will open the program’s 43rd season (1st in the BIG EAST) against MAC opponent Ohio on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio. Led by new head coach Bob Boldon, the Bobcats are coming off a 6-23 season, where they finished 1-15 in Mid-American Conference play and lost in the first round of the conference tournament.

The Musketeers then return home to Cintas Center to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov.17) and Longwood (Nov. 20) in the first regular season home contests. XU will face both opponents for the first time in program history. The Lady Lions, led by 2013 SWAC Coach of the Year Nate Kilbert, finished last season with a 13-18 overall record (7-11 SWAC). Kilbert, entering his second year at the helm, led UAPB to 13 wins in 2012-13, completely turning around a women's basketball program around that had won just two games total (2-58 overall) in the previous two seasons. The Lancers return eight letterwinners from a squad that went 14-19 overall (8-10 Big South) and secured an appearance in the 2013 Big South Conference Championship finals. The team's 14 victories marked the most wins in a season for the program since moving to Division I in 2007-08 (16).

The Blue and White’s 2013-14 non-conference slate includes four contests against teams that qualified for postseason play, each of which finished the 2012-13 season with a top-55 RPI. In BIG EAST play, the Musketeers will face each of its nine new league foes twice each as part of the conference’s double round-robin format. Four BIG EAST teams appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season (DePaul, St. John's, Creighton and Villanova).
