Updated: Sunday, November 24 2013, 11:31 AM EST

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WKRC) -- The Evansville IceMen (8-1-0-3) put up just enough offense to squeak past the Cincinnati Cyclones (9-4-0-0) by a 6-5 final score in front of 4,421 at Ford Center on Friday night.

The IceMen raced out to a 2-0 lead as Andre Bouvet-Morrissette and Daultan Leveille potted goals at 7:31 and 11:06 respectively. With Mike Clemente (L, 15 saves, 8-0-0-2) turning aside all five shots he faced in the frame, the hometown club led it by a pair after 20 minutes.

Early in the middle frame, Evansville extended their cushion to 3-0 as Joe Lavins point shot beat Rob Madore (L, 25 saves, 7-3-0-0) through a screen at 1:33. However, the Cyclones would roar to life in the ensuing minutes; Logan Shaw, Anthony Luciani, and Barry Almeida all scored just 5:24 apart to pull even. Unfortunately, the IceMen got the break-even strike with 1:17 left in the stanza as Jeremy Langolois tipped home his fourth goal of the year to make it 4-3 through two.

The IceMen padded their advantage again as Langolois lit the lamp for the second time in the game at 3:37. Then, Josh Beaulieu finished off an odd-man break with his fourth goal of the season to give his club a 6-3 lead. The Cyclones wouldnt go quietly, however, as Trevor Lewis and Barry Almeida notched power play goals to pull Cincinnati to within a goal again. Unfortunately, the IceMen defense held tough and sealed the 6-5 victory.
