Updated: Wednesday, July 16 2014, 12:21 AM EDT
MINNEAPOLIS (WKRC) -- Four Reds made an appearance in Tuesday's MLB All-Star game as the American League defeated the National league 5-3.

Alfredo Simon was the first Reds player to see the field as he pitched a scoreless third inning. He allowed a lead-off hit to Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter, who was playing in his 14th and final All-Star game. Simon then retired Mike Trout, Robinson Cano and Miguel Cabrera.

Devin Mesoraco caught a couple innings and struck out in his only at bat.

Todd Frazier finished the game at third base and walked in his only plate appearance.

Aroldis Chapman faced two batters in the eighth inning retiring both Yoenis Cespedes and Kyle Seager.

Johnny Cueto did not play since he pitched for the Reds Sunday.

The Reds return to action Friday in New York against the Yankees.

Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels won M.V.P. of the game with two hits, two RBI and a run scored.

The American League win means its representative will have home-field advantage in the World Series this year.
