Reds sign veteran pitcher Worley
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Reds have signed pitcher Vance Worley to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League spring training, the team announced on Tuesday.
The right-handed pitcher has spent parts of eight seasons in the majors with the Philadelphia Phillies, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins.
Worley, who finished third in rookie of the year voting with the Phillies in 2011, has a career record of 35-26 in 163 appearances, 97 of which were starts. The 30-year-old has a 4.09 career ERA.
Last season with Miami he went 2-6 with a 6.91 ERA in 26 appearances, 12 of which were starts.
