WATCH: UC baseball player Noda belts prodigious homer
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - University of Cincinnati junior first baseman Ryan Noda leads the baseball team in homers this season, but none went farther than the one he belted in the second inning of Thursday's game against Western Carolina.
Noda's blow landed on the roof of Fifth Third Arena behind the fence in right center field to become just the second Bearcats player to land a home run on the basketball arena roof. Lance Durham was the other, and his blast on April 29, 2009, was measured at 560 feet by the UC engineering department.
It was Noda's ninth homer of the season, which is four more than any other player on the team.
UC improved to 26-23 on the season with the win.
