Xavier baseball falls to Oklahoma in NCAA tournament opening game (XU Athletics)

LOUISVILLE (WKRC) - The Xavier University baseball team fell to Oklahoma 7-2 in a first-round game of the NCAA Tournament Louisville Regional on Friday afternoon.

The No. 3 seeded Musketeers (32-26) will face No. 4 seed Radford on Saturday at noon in the double-elimination format regional.

Radford (27-31) lost to No. 1 seed Louisville 11-6 in the other first-round game of the four-team Louisville regional pod.

If Xavier beats Radford it will face the Louisville-Oklahoma loser in an elimination game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, and if the Musketeers wins they would then face the Louisville-Oklahoma winner at 7 p.m. Sunday.

In Xavier's loss on Friday it led 2-0 entering the bottom of the seventh inning before No. 2 seed Oklahoma tallied seven runs.

Catcher Nate Soria had given Xavier the lead with a two-run double in the top of the second inning.
