Xavier's Steele lands one of highest-rated recruits in program history
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - First-year Xavier University basketball coach Travis Steele and his staff have landed one of the highest-rated recruits in program history.
Class of 2019 wing Elias King, who ranks 60th overall and is a four-star player per 247Sports composite ratings, made his commitment on Wednesday via Twitter.
The 6-foot-7, 185-pound King is from Snellville, Ga., and is rated the No. 3 player in the Georgia Class of 2019 behind University of Kentucky commit Ashton Hagans, who may reclassify into the Class of 2018, and uncommitted wing Isaac Okoro.
King initially was recruited to the University of Georgia by current Xavier assistant Jonas Hayes, but decommitted when Georgia fired head coach Mark Fox following the 2017-18 season.
Guard Samari Curtis of Xenia is the other player from the Class of 2019 to have committed to Xavier.
