Overflow of Sewage and Storm Water Near Treatment Plant

HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- People in Hamilton may have noticed a pond that formed around the water treatment plant.

There is an ongoing project to facilitate moving sewage and storm water to the water treatment plant. The heavy rain overwhelmed the system, causing an overflow.

The mess is completely contained and is not threatening the Great Miami River. Public works tells Local 12 the water is about five feet deep. Workers are pumping out the water and will lay down a substance to neutralize any residual mess.

Fortunately people in the area say the overflow isn't causing any odor. Any smell in the area is normal from the water treatment plant.
