JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes on June 7
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The JDRF Southwest Ohio Chapter is gearing up for its 20th Annual Walk to Cure Diabetes at Kings Island, to be held June 7. Registration begins in the Timberwolf Amphitheater at 7 a.m., and the walk begins at 8 a.m. The course takes participants on an entertaining 1.8 Mile loop through the park, including through Dinosaurs Alive!, where 65 life-size, roaring dinosaurs will cheer participants on their way.
Immediately following the walk, an after party will be held in the Timberwolf Amphitheater, featuring breakfast, drinks, music and family games. Park admission is not included with participation, but tickets are available for a discounted rate on Walk day. Individuals fundraising $200 or more will be provided with a park ticket to be used on Walk day or throughout the month of June.
Parking for the walk is free. Participants should enter through the main parking toll and follow walk signage to Timberwolf.
Registration for both individuals and teams can be completed online in advance of the walk HERE. Fundraising is encouraged, and a variety of resources and collateral materials can be found on the walk website. There is no entry fee required.
Teams are encouraged to participate in the team t-shirt contest, which will be judged immediately following the walk at the after-party. The JDRF logo must be part of the design.
