Health Alert: Wear Red Day

CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- Quick reminder, Friday is national Wear Red for Women Day, and the American Heart Association wants you to know that women do have certain heart attack symptoms.

You need to know what those symptoms are, wearing red is just a reminder to all of us to pay attention to our own bodies.

Debi Schweitzer tells us, "I am a survivor, and I want to be able to motivate women and get them involved in their heart health and let them learn the risk of heart disease, and let them know, stop , take time for yourself, listen to your body."

Dr. Dean Kereiakes from The Christ Hospital said, "If you are having symptoms that are unusual and very distinctive, can be indigestion, women it's often not just classic chest pain.  Then you need to be checked very quickly."

Now you can assess a little bit more about your own heart risk online. Just CLICK HERE to go to the American Heart Association's web site.

If you are going out Friday night, February 7th, 2014, wear red!  And tell someone why you are wearing it.
