Health Alert: Memory Vitamin
CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- A new report says there is a vitamin which we should not forget; it could help you hang on to your memory!
You probably recently heard us mention that in the next decade a recent report found nearly as many people may die from Alzheimer's disease as from heart disease or cancer. So we topped out in Burlington to tell you more about this new research.
We are at Abel To Cook. What Lauren does here is teach people how to make healthy meals such as a salad. What researchers in this study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found is that those who got nearly 2,000 international units of vitamin E a day had a delay in memory loss. This compared to those who did not get this amount.
This is something you can get in a supplement but when you get it in spinach and nuts you may absorb it better. Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin meaning it is found in salad oils and nuts. Remember that what is good for the heart is good for the head, so you may benefit from a little each day on your plate.
