UC Police Chief Resigns Suddenly
First on Local 12 News:
The University of Cincinnati's Police Chief has suddenly resigned.
Michael Cureton resigned from his position as top cop on July 23rd. He held the position for less that two years.
Cureton says it was his decision to resign. Local 12 has spoken with a handful of officers and some say there have been problems with morale under Cureton's tenure.
The President of the Union representing UC Police said there have been issues with public safety at UC since Cureton took the helm.
Now, the university has an opening for Police Chief. Assistant Chief Jeff Corcoran will serve as interim Police Chief. Corcoran is a veteran with the department.
