Missing 10-Year-Old Found Safe
CINCINNATI, Ohio (WKRC-TV) A 10-year-old girl is safe on Friday morning after an hours long search in Ross Township that continued into the night.
The girl was found at her home on Donna Marie Drive.
Police said the child was playing baseball in her backyard with her brother around 7:30 p.m. when the two got into a fight.
The little girl stormed off, and her parents were unable to find her.
The Butler County Search Team was called out to help locate the child, along with search dogs and a helicopter.
It turns out the child had squeezed herself between a wall and bed, and fell asleep.
She later woke up, and walked out her front door, and was discovered by the searchers.
"You can only imagine being a parent, and just thinking the worst," said Lieutenant Michael Craft, of the Butler County Sheriff's Office. "It's been four or five hours now, and your mind just continues to think the worst. They were devastated when we got here, and then elated when we left here."
Craft said the authorities sat the girl down and explained to her how she could never do something like this again.
