Toaster Convention Heats up Minnesota

We all probably have them in our homes but a rare collection of this common household item was on display in Minnesota.

The city of Rochester hosted the annual convention of the Toaster Collectors Association.

Collectors who research, conserve and restore toast-making devices came together to see rare and outdated models.

For many, toasters serve up more than a slice of crispy bread, they provide a slice of history and nostalgia.

One toast enthusiast proudly said he and his wife still use the "Toastmaster" they got as a wedding present, 54 years ago.

Here in Cincinnati, the 73rd annual Rathkamp Matchcover Society Convention is taking place August 18th through the 24th.
This convention is all about peoples love for matchbooks.  The convention is expected to bring in around 300 collectors from all around the world to show off and share their passion for these little items most tend to take for granted.
