Idaho Wildfire Causes New Evacuations

Fire officials say strong winds pushing a wildfire in Idaho are forcing hundreds of new evacuations near a resort town.

Still, firefighters have made some progress on the Beaver Creek fire Saturday.

Five more hotshot crews arrived to slow the march of flames toward homes in the affluent town of Ketchum and neighboring Hailey.

Officials say the fire was started by lightning earlier this month.

Incident Commander Rich Harvey described the fire as an aggressive fire.
The fire grew to 144 square miles last Saturday night and pushed north.

So far, more than two thousand homes have been evacuated.
